Thanks to a generous donor who cares about the environment, a new tree nursery has been built on a mountain top in Fondwa. Several years ago Haiti was deforested and the need is great to see trees and plants growing again. The tree nursery program is a project of the Association of Peasants in Fondwa. It will be a permanent activity for the production of seedlings of all kinds of trees (fruit-bearing and forested). If managed well, it can assure production of 100,000 saplings each reforestation project. (Read More)

Dr. Luis Colón just joined Whitson Vision with the start of the calendar year. With his friendly, easy going manner and kindness, patients can feel at ease with our new doctor. His care is personalized and focused on patient's needs. He brings with him a rich experience in comprehensive eye care combined with many hours in the operating room where he has polished his skills in the repertoire of eye surgeries he performs. In addition to enjoying the whole spectrum of eye care and surgery, Dr. Colón has a special interest in refractive cataract surgery (presbyopia correcting intraocular lenses), dry eye treatment, the correction of eyelid aging changes via Botox and surgery (ptosis correction, blepharoplasty) and macular degeneration.
